Korg Presents New Legacy Collection Analog Edition 2007 Virtual Instruments/Effects
Korg announces its latest software synthesizer offering, the Legacy Collection – ANALOG EDITION 2007. It pairs the "MS-20" and "Polysix" soft synths from the original Legacy Collection with a newly created version of the classic "Mono/Poly." The Legacy Cell software synthesizer plus MS-20FX and MDE-X effect plug-ins are also included.
Each soft synth utilizes Korg’s proprietary CMT (Component Modeling Technology) to perfectly reproduce the sound and response of the original. CMT also reproduces the character and response curve of each parameter, for results that are completely faithful to the original model.

Korg MS-20
Mono/Poly
Released in 1981, this monophonic/polyphonic behemoth was popular worldwide. It provided four oscillators, a resonant filter, dual EGs and Modulation Generators, plus 4-way Synchro and Cross Modulation capability for creating aggressive and signature tonal effects.
Beyond perfectly reproducing the original, this new Mono/Poly soft synth greatly extends its sound-creating potential. An eight virtual patch matrix lets users route 159 modulation sources to modulate 35 destinations for creating complex, diverse sounds. Two integrated multi-effects, 16-voice unison, an arpeggiator and up to 128 voices deliver modern performance power and flexibility. Also included is a diverse collection of 256 new sounds that was developed by an international team of sound designers and remixers.
MS-20
Legacy Cell enables combinations of the MS-20 and Polysix synthesizers to be blended with two insert effects and two master effects, and used as a single software synthesizer that provides new sounds and textures.
The MS-20 soft synth provides a complete simulation of its legendary original, with its acclaimed thick sound, aggressive filter and creative patching potential. Modern advantages have been added, including 32-voice polyphony, up to 16-voice unison (with detune/spread), flexible external modulation settings and MIDI clock synchronization.
Polysix
The Polysix software synthesizer perfectly replicates the original instrument’s voice structure, chorus/phase/ensemble effects plus chord memory and arpeggiator performance functions. It adds the same enhancements as the MS-20 — functionality that brings this classic synthesizer up to date for modern music production.
Legacy Cell
Legacy Cell enables combinations of the MS-20 and Polysix synthesizers to be blended with two insert effects and two master effects, and used as a single software synthesizer that provides new sounds and textures.
The Korg Legacy Collection – ANALOG EDITION 2007 also includes two significant effects plug-ins. The MS-20FX allows you to run audio through the MS-20’s filters and flexible ESP signal processing. The MDE-X is a suite of 19 high-quality effects derived from many of Korg’s classic instruments and recorders.
All synths operate as stand-alone or VST/AU/RTAS plug-in instruments and are Mac (including MacIntel) and Windows compatible. Current owners of the original Legacy Collection will be able to add the Mono/Poly via a special "Preferred Owners" upgrade offer.
