Yamaha today introduced the UD-WL01 USB Wireless LAN Adaptor, a simple and convenient device that creates a wireless connection between select Yamaha keyboards and the player’s iOS device for increased versatility and creativity.
Compact and portable, the UD-WL01 Wireless Adaptor simply plugs into the USB port of select Yamaha Clavinova, Tyros and Motif XF instruments. Compatible instruments are: CLP-535/545/575/585/565GP (excluding CLP-525) (with firmware update), MOTIF XF6/7/8 (Ver.1.50 or later).

Once in place, the UD-WL01 wirelessly connects to a nearby iOS device, enabling the user to access and interact with the growing library of popular Yamaha apps and web services right from their keyboard.
Currently, there are several Yamaha apps that can now be used in conjunction with the company’s select keyboards. Among them: MusicSoft Manager, which can backup your instrument data or restore data to your instrument; Repertoire Finder, which lets you browse, store and recall complete Panel Registrations setups for playing your favorite songs; NoteStar, which features hands-free, smooth flowing, digital sheet music matched with real audio backing tracks, and Visual Performer, which creates graphic animation by playing the instrument.
UD-WL01 is a USB wireless LAN adaptor that offers new ways to enjoy your musical instrument using iOS Applications and web services.
WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) also allows the UD-WL01 to quickly establish a secure connection to a wireless router.
"More and more students, musicians and hobbyists are enjoying the on-the-go simplicity of their iOS-driven tablet or mobile phone, and we can now offer a secure and reliable solution for connecting those devices, without any additional hardware elements," said Mark Anderson, director of marketing, Keyboard division, Yamaha. "This new adaptor greatly enhances the abilities of both the player and the instrument, providing a highly enjoyable, interactive experience."
Pricing And Availability
The UD-WL01 will be available in May for an MSRP of $120.
